SDS was founded in 2007 and grew from enterprise systems and network engineering into security architecture, exposure validation, and human-directed security operations. That foundation helps us find the dependencies a narrow assessment can miss.

Eddie Espino

Founder & Principal Cybersecurity Solutions Architect

Eddie helps organizations understand security risks, resolve difficult infrastructure problems, and turn technical findings into practical improvements.

With 25 years of experience across critical infrastructure, financial services, and enterprise environments, he combines architectural leadership with hands-on engineering. He assesses unfamiliar systems, untangles complex failures, and stays involved through implementation and troubleshooting. His recommendations reflect how systems operate and what teams need to maintain them.

His work spans network resilience, cybersecurity assessments, and secure AI workflows. He combines human-led penetration testing with private AI tools that help connect evidence across security findings. When designing systems that use AI agents, he defines their permissions, establishes clear identities, and builds in audit trails so their activity can be reviewed.

Peter brings two decades of hands-on network and security engineering to complex infrastructure projects. His CISSP, CCNP Enterprise, Fortinet NSE 7, and Security+ credentials span security practice and network engineering, complemented by PMP certification in project management.

He helps teams define scope, coordinate stakeholders, and manage complex network changes with security and operational continuity in view. His hands-on work spans Cisco routing and switching, BGP, OSPF, and infrastructure refreshes.

Nick Phelps

Senior Technology & Security Architecture Consultant

Nick helps organizations connect business requirements to practical decisions about networks, security, and infrastructure. His work spans cloud computing, virtualization, software-defined networking, and segmentation, with a focus on modernization.

He brings experience from engineering through director-level roles across technology manufacturers, biotechnology companies, service providers, MSPs, and value-added resellers. That breadth helps him explain architectural options and tradeoffs to both engineering teams and business leaders.
